Valdespino 'Origen' Vermouth 75cl, Jerez, Spain , Majestic Wine

Valdespino is one of the most historic producers in Jerez de la Frontera, tracing its roots back to 1264 when King Alfonso X granted land to knight Alfonso Valdespino. Made from Palomino grapes, this vermouth is aged in oak casks, resulting in a bright mahogany colour with coppery glints. It's made from old Sherry which is aromatised with dried fruit and botanicals including cinchona bark, gentian, nutmeg, and dried Seville orange. The blend is then aged in casks previously used to mature Valdespino Oloroso. It opens with rich spice aromas, caramelised citrus fruit, and a subtle Sherry oak background. The palate is well-balanced and rich, offering fresh citrus notes, soft spices, and a gentle, refined bitterness from the oak, leading into a rich, gentle and lingering finish. Serve it chilled on its own, over ice, or paired with green olives and cured meats.
