The Anne of Green Gables Collection by L M Montgomery 9781398827684

Titles in the Set1. Anne of Green Gables2. Anne of Avonlea3. Anne of the Island4. Anne of Windy Poplars5. Anne's house of Dreams6. Anne of InglesidDescription :Anne of Green Gable'sWhen Anne Shirley arrives at Green Gables, she surprises everyone: first of all, she's a girl, even though Marilla Cuthbert and her brother Matthew specifically asked for an orphan boy to help around the farm. And second of all, she's not just any girl: she has bright red hair, a wild imagination, and can talk a mile a minute. But she also has a sweet disposition and quick wit, and Anne (with an "e" of course-it's so much more distinguished!) soon finds her place in Avonlea, making a friend in her neighbor Diana Barry and attending the local school, where she spurns the advances of the popular and handsome Gilbert Blythe when he commits the ultimate sin of making fun of her hair. Anne has a temper as fiery as her hair and a knack for finding trouble, and she also has a big heart and a positive attitude that affects everyone she meets. This classic and beloved story makes a wonderful gift and keepsake.Anne of AvonleaFive years after Anne Shirley came to the town of Avonlea, she feels (a little) more grown up, but she's still the same skinny, red-headed orphan Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert took in. After putting her dream of attending Redmond College on hold so she can help Marilla with the farm, Anne doubts she has many adventures ahead of her. But even in plain old Avonlea, her life proves to be anything but ordinary. This sequel to Anne of Green Gables follows Anne's endeavours to become a successful teacher, help raise a pair of rambunctious twins, and improve her beloved hometown-with the help of her former enemy, Gilbert Blythe, who's giving her an awful lot of attention This addition to the renowned Anne of Green Gables series makes a wonderful gift and keepsake.Anne of the IslandAnne is finally off to Redmond College! While she's sad to be leaving Marilla and the twins, she's excited to finally become a full-fledged BA, and to embark on new adventures with the other Avonlea folks attending Redmond-a group that includes her friend Gilbert Blythe. At Redmond Anne meets Philippa Gordon, a frivolous but charming girl who pulls Anne into the centre of the Redmond social scene. As Anne becomes the object of several boys' affection, she's faced with numerous proposals she can't possibly accept. Then Gilbert ruins everything by declaring his own feelings for her, and Anne worries that she's lost one of her best friends...and possibly so much more. This addition to the renowned Anne of Green Gables series makes a wonderful gift and keepsakeAnne of Windy PoplarsThe fourth book in the series about red-haired Anne Shirley. Anne is now a young woman, who is beginning a romance with Gilbert Blythe. When she becomes the head of Summerside High School, however, she must face new challenges from the Pringle family, who are well-connected within the school and don't want her there. Can Anne show her characteristic bravery to overcome these obstacles and prove herself? This exciting fourth installment is perfect for children aged 8 and up.Anne's House of DreamsAnne is marrying Gilbert Blythe! While she's deliriously happy to finally be with her version of Prince Charming, she's devastated when she learns that they will be making their new home miles away from her beloved Avonlea. But Anne is always up for an adventure, especially when she has Gilbert by her side. The newlyweds settle right in to their house of dreams. Anne couldn't be more content-the house is darling and fits all of her lofty requirements: a bubbling brook running through the property, lots of lovely trees, and close proximity to a beautiful old lighthouse and the sea. In true Anne fashion she immediately makes new friends, including salty Captain Jim, beautiful but tragic Leslie Moore, and prim and proper Miss Cornelia Bryant. While Anne's days are filled with triumphs and tragedies, her imagination, spirit, and sense of humour guide her as she navigates this next chapter in her extraordinary life. This addition to the renowned Anne of Green Gables series makes a wonderful gift and keepsake.Anne of InglesideThe sixth volume of the adventures of red-haired Anne Shirley. Anne, now Mrs Doctor Blythe, is still sometimes as impetuous as when she was the girl from Green Gables. But with six lively children and hard-worked Gilbert to look after - not to mention Gilbert's disapproving aunt, Anne has to be practical too. Especially when the children get into as many scrapes as she ever did!
