Gonzo Wall Street : RIOTS,RADICALS,RACISM and REVOLUTION: How the Go-Go ...

Uncover the long-hidden history of Wall Street's corrupt investment banks in the 1960s and how they secured an outrageous taxpayer-funded bailout. This gripping account by Richard E. Farley details the financial malfeasance, the regulatory failures, and the surprising cast of characters involved, setting a precedent for future financial crises. Explore the tumultuous 1960s, a period of societal upheaval, where Wall Street's own crisis brewed largely unnoticed. Despite a booming market, many firms were precariously positioned due to overspending on executive salaries and outdated systems. The NYSE, operating as a private club, kept regulators in the dark until it was too late, leading to a systemic crisis. Discover stranger-than-fiction stories, including the Salad Oil Swindler, the hidden power of John Coleman, the groundbreaking story of Francine Gottfried, the Hard Hat Riot, and the last outrageous IPO of the Go-Go Era. Product Summary: This hardcover book, "Gonzo Wall Street" by Richard E. Farley, delves into the history of the 1960s financial system, detailing corruption, bailouts, and key figures. With 400 pages and written in English, it offers a critical look at Wall Street's past and its impact on future crises.
